I love Damon and Jo and I thought this event was very well planned and I appreciated the opportunity to listen to them. I think you should definitely bring these two back and just people in general who encourage travel as a lifestyle to learn.
The initial discussion seemed arbitrarily short, and while there were some good questions posed, they seemed to dance around the topic/point of inviting Mr. Savage to speak in the first place. While the student questions were interesting occasionally, they would have benefit from being cut shorter/screened beforehand to provide a more qualitative set of questions.
Overall, Mr. Savage's answers and comments were indeed interesting, though they had undertones of certain political calls-to-action that may not be the intent of the invitation. An interesting follow-up would be to have another speaker who maybe agrees with Mr. Savage's observations of the maker-movement, but possibly disagrees with his views on how to politically encourage growth in that area. For example, there is currently a huge counter-opinion on the freedom of the maker-movement when it comes to the ability to 3D print and one spokesperson is Cody Wilson. While certainly more controversial, but that is where the current discussion is.
