The Hamilton County 4-H Veterinary Science Club is open to all youth in grades 4th - 12th and meets monthly at the Extension Office. There is no cost to participate. The club focuses on learning about both domestic animals and wildlife. Right now, the club is preparing for the Regional 4-H Wildlife Competition coming up in May.
At the 4-H wildlife competition, youth will identify animals and also choose wildlife management practices that would best make an area into habitat for a particular animal. Youth in 4th through 12th grade participate in this contest in teams of 3 or 4 (divided by age group), or individually. There is no cost to participate. This year, youth in 4th or 5th grade will use a simplified wildlife habitat management form in the contest.
If you are interested in animals or in having a career that involves animals, this is the 4-H club for you!
