Starting a Food Manufacturing Business in Tennessee
Farmers interested in adding value to their farm products by food processing are invited to join UT Extension and Tennessee Department of Agriculture specialists for a free online workshop. If you are interested in making jams, fruit butters, baked goods, pickles, salsas, chow chows, sauces, or other processed food items, this workshop is for you. This workshop will help farmers understand what it takes to evaluate, develop and market a food manufacturing business in Tennessee. Topics discussed will include business planning, food manufacturing regulations, food safety, marketing, financing, risk management, and business and sales tax. (This program does not cover food service regulations for catering, food trucks or restaurants.)
Each workshop consists of four, two-hour sessions. The number of participants will be limited to allow instructors to better address participant needs and questions. A notebook of materials will be mailed to participants. Register now to reserve your space and receive a notebook prior to the first session in your workshop. You will receive an email with a single URL to join all four sessions.
