Applications are open for the Spring 2025 Appalachian Justice Research Lab (AJRL)! The AJRL is a transdisciplinary course where students will work under the supervision of faculty and in collaboration with community partners to conduct research and produce work products that support the needs and policy priorities of marginalized communities in urban and rural Appalachia.

Each semester, the AJRL encompasses a new cohort of research projects. In Spring 2025, the 3 projects converge around the theme of visual storytelling - through digital imagery, database curation, AI mapping, and videography - to understand Appalachia as it is and imagine how it might be. Learn more about each project here.

This virtual information session is open to undergraduate and graduate students in any discipline who are interested in learning more about the Spring 2025 AJRL. This session includes an introduction the AJRC and the AJRL, how to apply, and what to expect from the course.
