This talk is based on an ongoing grant-funded research project with graduate students that engages with the concept "Pedagogy of Refusal," which is based in queer and anti-colonial theories. The discussion will explore how this pedagogical framework might be applied to education as a field, as well as to classrooms, research studies, and beyond to support LGBTQ+ people, with concrete examples including failures, successes, and lessons learned to support others' efforts.
