About this Event
ArcGIS Online is a complete, scalable and secure software-as-a-service cloud-based mapping platform which can be used to make and share maps, scenes, apps, layers, analytics, and data. This workshop will introduce usrs to the basics of geographic information system (GIS) mapping using ESRI’s ArcGIS Online platform. Users will learn how to acquire and format data for mapping, upload it into the ArcGIS online system, and create a series of maps. GIS data acquisition and analytics will also be introduced in this workshop. After creating a series of maps, users will learn how to export and share maps into other applications such as ESRI’s Story Maps. From these applications, users can create a stable link to a mixed media mapping project that can be used for research or teaching purposes.
