Art Salon October: "Frankensteins"
MAKE STUFF—SOCIALIZE—RELIEVE STRESS—FOSTER CREATIVITY
Art Salon is a free and open workshop series hosted by the School of Art's printmaking area. UTK Print invites students from all majors across the university to gather for an afternoon of skill-sharing fun.
OCTOBER 15: “FRANKENSTEINS”
Repurpose decorative covers from old books into new blank journals. Try your hand at the Coptic Stitch, an ancient method of bookbinding where the stitching is exposed.
**Participants are invited to bring a hardcover book that they don’t mind destroying and reusing (optional). All other materials provided. Please wear closed-toed shoes.
Instructions or brief demonstrations will be provided upon arrival, followed by time and space to experiment. The drop-in format is designed so you can come and go as your schedule allows.
No reservations are required. Depending on turn-out, space and supplies may be limited to first-come-first-serve.
Art Salon happens once-a-month in the Printmaking Lab (Art + Arch 241), Friday afternoons from 1–4pm on the dates listed below.
