Ashe Lecture Series Presents: Diplomacy Between Central Europe and the U.S
The Center will host a virtual panel discussion with the four ambassadors representing the Visegrad Group, or V4, moderated by Global Security Program Director Dr. Krista Wiegand. The discussion will center around the diplomatic relationships between the V4 countries and the United States.
The Visegrad Group is made up of the Central European countries Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, and represented by Ambassadors Dr. Hynek Kmonicek, Szabolcs Takács, Piotr Wilczek, and Radovan Javorčík.
The event will be the return of the Center’s Ashe Distinguished Lecture Series, sponsored by former Knoxville mayor and U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Victor Ashe, the first Ashe lecture since the pandemic halted in-person events last March. For the series, ambassadors and mayors are invited to speak on a variety of public matters, including foreign relations, diplomacy, world affairs, and local government. The series also is part of the Center's Leadership & Governance Program.
This event is free and open to the public.
This virtual panel will be held over Zoom. Register for this event.
