 Abstract:\n\n \n\nEstablished in 2005\, the Engineering Research Office (E
 RO) is a unique resource\, providing pre-award concierge service to enhanc
 e the quality and success rate of extramural research proposals and reduce
  our faculty’s administrative burden. Developing\, preparing\, and submi
 tting research proposals is a substantive and involved effort expected of 
 TCE tenure-line faculty members. We are here to help—ERO provides custom
  proposal support and development services to facilitate successful propos
 al submissions. From brand new\, first-year faculty to well-established UT
 -ORNL Governor’s Chairs\, ERO’s experienced staff members assist TCE f
 aculty at every step of the proposal process\, from initial planning to bu
 dget development and document preparation\, through submission to the fund
 ing agency.\n\n \n\nBiographies:\n\n \n\nJada R. Huskey\, Director of ERO\
 , is a certified research administrator with more than 28 years of experie
 nce supporting the University of Tennessee’s research mission. She has e
 xtensive experience with non-profit\, local\, state\, and federal funding 
 agencies and has broad knowledge of federal regulations and university pol
 icies related to sponsored research. Huskey joined the Tickle College of E
 ngineering in 2005 as a founding member of the ERO\; she was appointed as 
 director in 2012.\n\nKiley Compton\, Assistant Director of ERO\, is a cert
 ified research administrator with more than 12 year of experience providin
 g proposal support and development in academic and non-profit settings. Sh
 e has extensive experience with pre-award proposal development and researc
 h administration\, including solicitation analysis\, budget development\, 
 project management\, editing\, compliance review\, and federal regulations
  and university policies related to sponsored research. Compton joined the
  ERO in 2021\; she was appointed as assistant director in 2023.\n\nLearn m
