Brown Bag: Experiential Learning in an Online Environment, Using OBS to Teach Virtually

During part 1, Dr. D’Elia-Zunino will detail how she provides students with the opportunity to experience a foreign language “in medias res” even when all activities have been cancelled. She will share what her students in Italian have been doing since March 2020 to stay on task, live the language, and experience the culture.

In part 2, Brian Stevens, Senior Lecturer in Business Analytics and Statistics, will discuss using Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to teach virtually. With more classes going online, instructors are challenged with finding news to promote student interaction. Technology can be fully utilized to create an immersive online experience that captivates students. An online class that captivates keeps students viewing the screen and engaging with the material. Find out key tips to make your class captivating and engaging.
