Building Students' Global Competence in the Classroom Workshop

After graduation, our students will be working with people from other countries and cultures, which means they must learn to become globally competent if they are to enter the workplace as culturally competent employees.

In this workshop, Teaching & Learning Innovation Team Leaders Dr. Ferlin McGaskey and Dr. Deepa Deshpande will use the Global Competency Framework developed by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and the Asia Society Partnership to lead faculty in consideration of what we mean by Global Competency, how the domains of global competency align with our learning goals for students, and how we can develop assignments that facilitate our students’ development of global competence.
