Canceled: Census Research Tools Workshop

If you use census data, you’ve hopefully heard that American Fact Finder is being retired on March 31. Are you ready?

Data.census.gov is now the primary tool for accessing Census data like the American Community Survey, Economic Census and next year’s release of the 2020 Census.

If you need help navigating the transition, the Tennessee State Data Center(SDC) at the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research UT Libraries are co-sponsoring a free workshop for UTK users. Census Bureau staff will lead a demonstration of the new platform, and attendees will be able to speak with SDC and Census Bureau staff about Census products and other data questions.

We’ll also look at “On the Map” – a powerful interface for visualizing where employees work and live including their age, earnings, industry distributions, race, ethnicity, educational attainment, and sex.

This is an interactive session – bring a laptop or use a training computer in the room.

There is no charge to attend this event, but registration is required.

For more information, contact SDC Director Tim Kuhn or UT Libraries Social Sciences Data Librarian Brianne Dosch.
