Checkerboard Chats: Practicing During COVID-19/What to Know About Stroke

Presented by First Horizon, join UT alumna, Dr. Leslie Hamilton ('03, '07) to learn about being a healthcare worker during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Hamilton served as an intensive care unit pharmacist during the pandemic and will present lessons learned during this Checkerboard Chat. In addition, Dr. Hamilton practices in the Neuro ICU and will be discussing important risk factors for stroke in addition to treatment options for patients who have had a stroke.

As a student at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, Leslie studied English Literature and took pre-pharmacy coursework. She completed her PharmD in 2007 from University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), a PGY1 residency at Moses Cone Hospital in 2008, and a PGY2 residency in Critical Care at UTHSC/Regional One Medical Health in 2009. She enjoys teaching the public about stroke to help educate about preventable risk factors and the importance of acting quickly when a patient has had a stroke.
