Childhood Trauma & ACEs: Education In An Age of Distress
Anna Graham and Dan Phillips are educators and the founders of ARC Education, an organization focused on childhood trauma in education based in Knoxville, TN. They will be joined by Professor of Psychology & Director of the Gordon Couples Research Lab Dr. Kristina Gordon and Dr. David Cihak, the Associate Dean of CEHHS & Director of the Bailey Graduate School of Education.
The talk and panel cover research on the emotional and physical effects of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) in the classroom and present research-based strategies for how to combat their impact. Co-Host of the event includes the Department of Psychology, the College of Education, Health & Human Sciences, and the Bailey Graduate School of Education.
