Developing an Inclusive Teaching Philosophy Statement

In honor of Graduate & Professional Student Appreciation Week, this introductory workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to develop an inclusive teaching philosophy statement. Increasingly, universities and colleges are requesting that faculty job applicants provide a statement addressing how they plan to create an inclusive learning environment for their students.

This session will introduce several approaches to developing and writing an inclusive statement and give participants an opportunity to begin generating ideas on their own and in small groups.  At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Identify what a teaching philosophy is;

2.  Name several inclusive teaching practices;

3.  Compare and contrast examples of teaching philosophies;

4.  Develop an outline for their own inclusive teaching philosophy.

You can register for this workshop via our workshop portal.
