William Cheng, Associate Professor of Music at Dartmouth University, presents "...But the Nazis Love(d) Music Too." This paper explores effective, institutional, and rhetorical impediments to contemporary efforts to demystify music as an ennobling force. It asks whether we may be more collectively vulnerable to musical and moralist myths than we'd like to admit and how we can reconceive our intellectual priorities and responsibilities moving forward.
