Diversi-Tea: Inclusive Teaching Practice in STEM Disciplines

Women and students of color are underrepresented in STEM disciplines. While the need for STEM professionals continues to increase, there are not enough qualified graduates in STEM disciplines. In order to recruit and retain more women and students of color in these fields, inclusive teaching practices are needed in an effort to establish a welcoming learning environment and make the learning more meaningful and personal for students.

In this session, participants will reflect on their own teaching practices in STEM disciplines; describe challenges and barriers for women and students of color in STEM fields; identify inclusive teching practices that can be applied in the STEM classroom to promote students learning.

Please note: this workshop is intended for UT faculty, staff and graduate students.
