Diversi-Tea: Supporting First-Generation Students

Diversi-Tea is part of an ongoing effort to facilitate communication among faculty, staff and graduate students about issues related to inclusive teaching practices. In monthly sessions, faculty and staff will be given the opportunity to learn from one another and engage in dialogue about the various ways of incorporating inclusive teaching practices.

In this session, participants will hear from a panel of first-generation students at varying levels of their academic experience to foster a better understanding of the strengths and academic needs of this population. Additionally, faculty, staff and students are invited to discuss with the panel ideas for supporting first-generation students both in and outside the classroom to foster their success.

You can learn more about Diversi-Tea on our TLI website, and register for this session via our workshop portal. If you cannot attend in-person, this session will also be webcasted live and available via recording after the original session time.
