Divided Government: Bipartisan Dysfunction, Bipartisan Solutions
Please join the Howard Baker Center in welcoming former Congressman Zach Wamp (R-TN), former Congressman and U.S. Ambassador to India Tim Roemer (D-IN), and Meredith McGehee from Issue One for an in-depth exploration of how leaders willing to place country over party in divided government can end dysfunction in Washington and fix the political system.
Congressman Wamp and Roemer are Co-chairs of Issue One's ReFormers Caucus, a coalition of more than 200 former members of Congress, governors, and Cabinet secretaries organized to advocated for solutions to fix our broken political system. This discussion will cover political reform on Capitol Hill, the challenges and opportunities for bipartisan solutions, and the impact of the 2018 midterm elections on governing in Washington.
This event will be Monday, January 28 from 5:00-6:30 pm in the Toyota Auditorium and is free and open to the public. Guests may park for free in the Vol Hall Garage by requesting a parking voucher from Baker Center staff at the event.
