You are invited to an outdoor gathering of friends to pay tribute to the memory of Dr. Bill Laren, a consummate and passionate teacher who devoted 50 years to his students in New York and at the University of Tennessee, and who passed away on September 7.

The event will begin at 5:30, when heavy hors dóeuvres will be available. A short program will begin at 6 p.m. with prepared remarks by several people who knew Bill very well.

Following a short break, there will be an outdoor screening of The Graduate, one of Bill's favorite films. Attendees planning to watch The Graduate may wish to bring a blanket or lawn chair to watch the film on the grass.

Please remember to wear a blue shirt in honor of Bill's favorite color.

We hope the gathering will allow people to reconnect with old friends and informally share memories about the way that Bill affected all our lifes both before the program begins and after the screening ends.

Location and Parking: The event will be held in the McIIwaine Friendship Vaillon at the UT Gardens, just southeast of the UT Vet School.

Ample parking is available in Lot C4, at the corner of Jacob Drive and Chapman Drive.
