Visit the East Tennessee History Center to enjoy a showcase of images and ephemera from Knoxville’s 1976 celebration of the U.S.A. Bicentennial!  The exhibition is sponsored by the Denbo Center for Humanities & the Arts, the Knox County Public Library, and the East Tennessee Historical Society, and curated by DCHA Associate Director, Dr. Katharine A. Burnett.  A companion piece to the East Tennessee History Center’s “American Revolution Experience,” in honor of the U.S.A.’s 250th anniversary, “1976: Knoxville Celebrates the American Bicentennial” features photos of Knoxville’s parades, the Bicentennial Park dedication, the Bicentennial Wagon Train, and more! 

When: “1976: Knoxville Celebrates the American Bicentennial” opens June 30, 2026  and runs through July 27, 2026 

Where: East Tennessee History Center, 601 S Gay Street, Knoxville (during the History Center’s regular hours - please note the center is closed 7/3 and 7/4)
