#WritingAccountabilityThe Denbo Center invites arts and humanities faculty to join Executive Director Amy Elias and Associate Director Katie Burnett for a (free) 2-day Writing Challenge!
We will meet daily at the Denbo Center from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm to work on our writing together --at a time when we work on classes and prioritize other things over our writing.
One of the goals of this session is to remind faculty that even when classes start, a daily writing routine of even 25 minutes a day will help to keep their research agendas alive and their writing on schedule.
The Denbo Center will provide the following: secure storage at the Center for books and materials you need for your writing for the 2 days; an optional 15-minute guided video meditation in our seminar rooms to start each day (bring your mat); coffee breaks and snacks; lunch each day from 12:00-12:30 for Challenge registrants; free parking. We also have supplementary materials for you about how to order your work calendar and what the "pomodoro method" of writing could do for you. We do not offer individual workspaces. Faculty can write together in our KitchenCafe with background music, or in our quiet library/reading room, conference room, or seminar room.
Registrants must supply their own laptops and any materials they need for the writing sessions. No zoom meetings are allowed during Challenge hours.
This challenge is for arts and humanities faculty only. Faculty of any rank or type of appointment are welcome. We can accommodate 15-20 people comfortably: registrants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants selected must commit to attending all 2 days of the challenge.
