False Calm - Sam Vernon

False Calm is a new series of photo montages exploring anti-singularity - bodies of subjects dissolve into abstraction incorporated into collage elements which include drawing, Xerox, and lithography.

Sam Vernon earned her MFA in Painting/Printmaking from Yale University in 2015 and her BFA from the Cooper UNion in 2009. She uses installation and performance to honors the past while revising historical memory. Vernon lives in Oakland, CA and teaches printmaking as an Assistant Professor at California College of the Arts.
