Join the Appalachian Justice Research Center for a celebration of the inaugural year of the Appalachian Justice Research Lab, a community collaborative research course dedicated to producing research with and for Appalachian communities. Students, faculty, and community members will showcase their research in an interactive exhibit of artwork, stories, and data on projects spanning topics like land justice, housing, and safety.

In the spirit of Knoxville's "First Friday," a monthly celebration of local arts and culture, we're adding a unique gallery-style exhibit of research into the mix! Come and go anytime between 5:30-8:00PM, and enjoy light appetizers as you peruse at your own pace. A few of the research projects on display include:

• A "silent disco" of interviews with community members in the region, discussing everything from artwork to land to pie recipes
• Images of the future of a former coal-producing community in East Tennessee, created by youth and adults who live there
• Data visualizations of studies about shoplifting charges and impacts in Northeast Tennessee and the Knox County eviction crisis
