This free community event is offered monthly by the Master Gardeners of Hamilton County.

Orchids can become a fascinating hobby for anyone interested in these diverse and beautiful plants. In nature, orchids are found on every continent except the polar regions. Many of the most commonly grown orchids are epiphytes, meaning they have specialized roots that cling to trees in their natural environment. Orchids are also unique in their ability to hybridize between genera and species, creating thousands of beautiful intergeneric hybrids.

This Third Saturday class in May will focus on growing orchids successfully in the home environment. With careful attention to light, moisture, and temperature, orchids can bloom year after year.

Space is limited and registration is required. Sign up early as these classes can fill up fast!
