This free community event is offered monthly by the Master Gardeners of Hamilton County.  

February is a great time to prune many of your trees and shrubs to keep them healthy and beautiful. This class provides the opportunity to learn basic pruning skills with two experts: Jeremy Hardison of Boutte Tree Services and Janzen Velba of Tree Worx Arbor Services. They will explain when and how to properly prune trees to make them stronger and more resistant to damage from storms, decay, and disease while maintaining their attractive benefits in your landscape. Weather permitting, the talk will be followed by a walk around the arboretum to identify trees needing pruning and demonstrating where the cuts should be made.
