Kick off your semester by playing games with us! Through a partnership with University Libraries, the McClung Museum invites UT's campus community to drop by to play board games of all sorts during the museum’s regular operating hours. Participants can play a high-resolution reproduction of the Victorian-era board game, The Mansion of Happiness, along with other, more contemporary games about "moral" choices.
An original copy of The Mansion of Happiness was recently acquired by the McClung Museum. It was the first board game with a known publisher in the United States and remains one of the longest running board games to have been printed. The original will be on display during the program as a part of the exhibition Debut: Recent Acquisitions, on view through September 1, 2019.
