Graduate Students Introduction to Online Teaching Seminar

The Online Learning & Academic Programs (OLAP) and Teaching & Learning Innovation (TLI) are pleased to offer the Graduate Students Introduction to Online Teaching Seminar in Spring 2023. The Seminar is designed to introduce graduate students to online course design and pedagogy. This workshop is part of the Developing Future Faculty series, and participants will earn a certificate at the end of the seminar.

During this seminar, graduate students will learn and apply the principles and best practices associated with designing and developing an online course. It will include topics such as fundamentals of designing and teaching online courses, universal design and accessibility in online education, student engagement in online courses, and online assessment strategies.

This is a six-week course with four synchronous workshops in zoom (Wednesdays from 2:30–4:00 pm). Students are expected to attend at least three of the four face-to-face workshops and complete all deliverables to earn the certificate of completion. Expect to spend 2 to 3 hours of your time on weekly activities.
