Join the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences for a talk by Stephanie Goldstein.

Stephanie Goldstein, PhD, is an Associate Professor within the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School, and Senior Research Scientist at the Weight Control and Diabetes Research Center of The Miriam Hospital. Her research focuses on leveraging digital health tools, novel research methodologies, and advanced analytics to study and intervene on weight-related behaviors implicated in cardiovascular disease risk, particularly eating and diet. Dr. Goldstein is currently funded on 11 NIH-funded projects and Centers, most of which focus on development of personalized intervention approaches (e.g., just-in-time adaptive interventions [JITAIs], behavioral phenotyping). In addition to employing digital health tools, like smartphones, wearable sensors, and GPS/GIS, her research leverages machine learning and optimization methods (e.g., micro-randomized trials) to build highly tailored interventions while also advancing behavioral science. She has established national and international collaborations to develop JITAIs in the areas of smoking cessation, chronic pain, mental health, and substance use disorders. Dr. Goldstein serves on the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s Scientific Education Council, as a mentor on Brown's Cardiovascular Behavioral Medicine T32 postdoctoral fellowship program, and co-mentor on several NIH K-awards.
