Conducting Research with Mobile Devices: What you should know

In the past decade the dramatic increase in the use of smartphones, tablets and wearable technologies has provided researchers with unprecedented opportunities. It has also created unique challenges for both researchers and IRBs to ensure the protection of human research participants and address unfamiliar regulatory requirements.

This session will explore the challenges presented by the use of mobile apps in research including informed consent, data security and participant confidentiality, study design, and the impact of regulatory requirements.
