Local Landscape Architect, retired UT Professor, and Author Garry Menendez will return to his former life on Saturday, February 22 for a double header (yes, baseball is returning to Knoxville!) At 10:00 he will present his popular talk, “12 Common Landscape Mistakes and How to Avoid Them”. We all have goofed somewhere in our own yards. This talk will show you some common not-so-good practices in creating a great garden and offer some tips to help avoid them.

There will be a short break and then at 11:00 he will wrap things up with a never-before-seen presentation, “The Whimsical Garden – Breaking the Rules in Garden Design”. Sharing perhaps too many images of his own garden, Garry will wear his garden therapist hat help you go past that fear of being judged. Blending his knowledge with humor, Garry Menendez usually draws a crowd so register soon.  

Following his presentation, he will be selling and signing his new garden design book, A Home for Your Gnome. These beautiful coffee table books are $40 and also make a wonderful gift. So, get one for yourself and that whimsical gardener in your life!
