Intermediate Birding

Intermediate Birding is a field -based opportunity to build on basic birding skills. Prerequisites are either completing a Beginning Birding class at Nashville Community Education, or a working understanding of bird identification, using field guides, eBird, and binocular usage. Each meeting will take place at a different Davidson County birding hotspot. Each meeting site is selected to highlight different habitats to maximize the species to observe, and will include developing the following skills:

-using a spotting scope

-choosing where to bird based on season/weather

-utilizing data to inform what birds to expect

-differentiating similar species

Students will come away with a great beginning "life list" of birds, as well as knowing some of the best local places to go birding on their own.

Email Andy for information on the locations for each session.
