Intro to Climbing & Top Rope Belay

The 1.5 to 2 hour belay clinic (limited to 6 people) teaches you the skills required to rock climb and belay (which is the process of controlling the climber’s rope).

Learn how to move easily up the wall, position your body for the least effort, and maintain enough energy to reach the top.

Additionally, learn how to wear a harness, tie the figure-8 follow through knot, use a carabiner with a belay device, climbing communication, and practice belaying with a climber.

24 hours after taking the clinic, you can take the belay test. The belay test is free and a score of 100% is needed to pass. (Climbers who already know how to belay only need to take the free belay test anytime during open wall hours.)

You may use your own modern style climbing harness and belay device.

Your instructor will work with you for the entire clinic, giving you plenty of hands on practice, both at climbing and belaying.

Note: Clinic starts promplty at 6pm. It is not possible to late add.
