It's Socktober!!!

All month long, the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS) is collecting socks for our downtown neighbors in need!

Why give socks?

 1) Socks are a real need for our homeless neighbors. Imagine, you carry all of your belongings with you each day. Maybe you’ve got two pairs of jeans, a couple of shirts, a couple of pairs of underwear, and some socks. And, socks get dirty. They get dirty fast.

 2) New socks are gold to our homeless neighbors because they help defend from several health problems associated with keeping clean–imagine taking a shower and then having to put on dirty socks.

 3) Let’s face it. Giving someone in our community something that they genuinely need just feels good.

All are welcome to join us in SOCKTOBER

Sock Boxes can be found by the digital boards in Bailey, Claxton, HPER, and Jessie Harris Buildings. #GoVols #socktober
