Kernel Convo: Turning Red

Join Multicultural Student Life, the Pride Center, and the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Program for a screening of the Pixar movie, Turning Red.  After the movie, the MSL Diversity Educators will facilitate a conversation about the film's representation and major themes.

About the film: In Turning Red, Mei Lee is a confident, dorky thirteen-year-old torn between staying her mother's dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. And as if changes to her interests, relationships, and body weren't enough, whenever she gets too excited (which for a teenager is practically ALWAYS), she "poofs" into a giant red panda! This heartwarming and hilarious movie addresses themes of growing up, honoring one's cultural heritage, and forging a new path ahead.
