About this Event
View map Free EventAn audio-visual homage to McCarthy’s Suttree, mixing rare video footage of Knoxville from the 1950s (the era of the novel) accompanied by live music by Buddy and the Huddle, a German band who were so obsessed with the novel in the 1990s that they recorded an album titled “Music for a Still Undone Movie Maybe Called Suttree.” The band will “live score” the film playing behind them. Organized by Bill Hardwig in the Department of English and Stefanie Ohnesorg in the Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures.
