This Lunch & Learn Series, exclusively tailored for faculty and graduate students within the EECS department, takes place on the last Friday of every month during the fall and spring semesters. A light lunch will be provided by the department. Please RSVP to Angie Chance no later than October 23, 2024.

Join us and engage with our guest speaker, who will highlight campus resources, new initiatives, and other valuable information to foster research collaborations, networking, and other opportunities among our faculty and students.

Abstract:

Have you ever wondered where the data for ABET, or the CRA’s Taulbee Survey, or the US News & World Report rankings come from? Have you ever wondered how many EECS students there are, what the demographic make-up of the student body is, or how many out of state freshmen return for their second fall? These are just a few examples of the services and products provided by the Institutional Research & Strategic Analysis (IRSA) team. The goal of this Lunch & Learn Series is to inform what institutional research is, share the services and products that are available from IRSA, and demonstrate how faculty and staff can access it all, right now.

Biography:

Director of IRSA Jim Lenio joined the team in August 2021. His primary responsibility is ensuring that the internal and external reporting and analysis needs of the institution are being met. For almost 15 years prior to working at UT, Jim did similar work in Minnesota at Walden University. His educational training has centered primarily on program evaluation as this was the focus of both his MS in Applied Psychology and his PhD in education.
