Title: An Invitation to Partial Differential Equations
Abstract: The lecture is to introduce undergraduate students several topics and research directions in analysis of partial differential equations. First, we derive a class of partial differential equations based on a physical phenomenon called diffusion. Then, we consider the Laplace equations which is the simplest PDE. Several analysis estimates for solutions will be discussed and proved. Some applications and physical meaning in the analysis estimates are also explained. Finally, we discuss about several questions and further topics of current research directions. Students with only background in Calculus III should be able to follow most details in the lectures.
