National Day on Writing Celebration
The NATIONAL DAY ON WRITING (https://whyiwrite.us/) is an annual event observed around the country to celebrate the crucial role writing plays in our lives.
UT’s celebration, sponsored by the Writing Center and UT Libraries, will take place on Wednesday, October 17, from 12-2 p.m., on the second floor of Hodges Library. All faculty and students are invited to stop by.
This year’s highlights include:
-
Demos of PowerNotes, a browser add-on tool that allows writers to save, annotate, organize, and cite online sources. PowerNotes owner Wilson Tsu will offer short demos for students and instructors to learn how using it can help undergraduate researchers. More information about this tool is available at https://www.blog.powernotes.com/help.
Student and instructor demos: 12:00-2:00 pm, Hodges Library.
Instructor-only demos: 2:30-3:00 or 3:00-3:30, 1210 McClung Tower
-
Graffiti walk, story board, and a caption contest (with prizes!)
-
Information for undergraduates from any discipline who are interested in becoming a Writing Center tutor.
