National Voter Registration Day
National Voter Registration Day seeks to create a broad awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise. To honor the holiday and Senator Howard H. Baker Jr.'s commitment to participatory democracy, The Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy will be hosting a voter registration drive in the building's rotunda from 8 am to 5 pm. Any US citizens can come to the Center to look up their registration status, have questions answered, and be registered to vote.
September 28th, 2021 (always the 4th Thursday in September) is National Voter Registration Day. It is a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating our democracy. First observed in 2012, it has quickly gained momentum ever since. Nearly 4.5 million voters have registered to vote on the holiday to date.
