NE Colloquium. Amanda Johnsen - Radiochemical Applications In Nuclear Engineering

Radiochemistry, or the study of the chemistry of radioactive isotopes, has been an integral part of nuclear science and engineering research since the discovery of radioactivity. Indeed, the entirety of the nuclear fuel cycle, along with a significant portion of nuclear medicine and nuclear safeguards and security heavily depend on radiochemical techniques. This presentation will highlight some of Dr. Johnsen’s radiochemistry-related research projects in nuclear waste and radioisotope production.
