Join us on November 19 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM in the Ed Ingle Theater (COM 402-G) for a special event celebrating Native American & Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Month. We are honored to welcome John Martin, a retired Knox County Schools teacher, track coach, and proud alum of CEHHS, as he shares insights from his book, Perseverance: Growing Up Cherokee.

In this engaging session, John will recount his experiences growing up Cherokee in East Tennessee, offering a unique perspective on resilience, culture, and identity. His stories promise to inspire and educate, highlighting the rich heritage and enduring spirit of the Cherokee people.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from a remarkable individual who has dedicated his life to education and community. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an advocate for indigenous rights, or simply curious about local heritage, this event is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Mark your calendars and join us for an afternoon of reflection, learning, and celebration!
