Lecture - Perspectives on Anthropology in Business and Research
Dr. Palma Buttles is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff and Director of Special Programs in the Office of the CTO at the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (CMU SEI). CMU SEI is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), whose mission is to support the nation’s defense by advancing the science, technologies, and practices needed to acquire, develop, operate, and sustain software systems that are innovative, affordable, trustworthy, and enduring.
In her role as Director of Special Programs at CMU SEI, she identifies needs, develops, and leads a variety programs to enhance the SEI’s ability to provide value to the communities we serve. This includes programs that focus on the CMU SEI’s research agenda, diversity and inclusion, and organizational effectiveness. In her role as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff (MTS) Palma conducts research focused on the cultural aspects cybersecurity and has assisted organization in the United States and internally in successfully addressing their critical human capital, organizational culture and process improvement needs.
