What if we told you that digital games are showing up more and more in college classrooms – not just in the computer science,  but also in digital audio and art departments? What if you could land a career in Esports if you're a player, content creator, or analyst-- or someone who is just passionate about gaming?

Baro Hyun, Founder & CEO of LunaTone and a globally renowned Esports expert and successful business owner in Japan and South Korea, will speak at the student-facing  Volan 2025, an annual Esports Tournament hosted by the student run Esports Club at the University of Tennessee.  UTK professors Gosia Citko-DuPlantis (Japanese Literature) and Tore Olsson (American History) will present alongside Hyun, sharing their thoughts about what the future might hold for digital games as a gateway to higher learning and how to successfully position yourself in a fast-moving industry like Esports. The speakers will offer practical advice on how to carve out your own path in education and in an esports career.

This event is part of the 2024-25 Digital Games Research Seminar of the Denbo Center for Humanities & the Arts.
