Rethinking Reentry - University of Tennessee College of Law
An increasing number of state laws and reentry programs are helping people with a criminal record successfully “reenter” society, thereby reducing recidivism, improving public safety, and saving money.
But are these efforts enough?
Presentations at this symposium will feature some of the leading experts in the area of reentry.
Our keynote speaker, Cyntoia Brown Long, was once a 16-year-old victim of sex trafficking who was arrested and convicted of killing a man who solicited her for sex.
Following our keynote, panel discussions will include overcoming obstacles to reentry and restoration of voting rights.
