Screening of Disney's Encanto
Bienvenidos a clases!
Join Latin American & Caribbean Studies in celebrating our continued interdisciplinary programming on the theme of Magic & Reality. Students will enjoy a free screening of Disney's hit animated feature, Encanto, and meet one of the Afro-Colombian consultants who helped the filmmakers represent the wide range of people who call her country home today. Stay after the screening for a Q&A with Edena Liliana Valencia and UT Professor Beau Gaitors about the film's history and Afro-Latinx representation.
All are welcome. We especially invite students who are interested in Latin American culture and history, or those who would like to consider a major or minor in Latin American & Caribbean Studies.
Thanks to our co-sponsors, Africana Studies, Hispanic Studies, McClung Museum, Latin American Student Organization, Latino Business Student Association, Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc., & the Office of Multicultural Student Life
