View mapThe short story contest held at Hodges Library and partnered with the Judith Anderson Herbert Writing Center is an event to give students the opportunity to showcase their creative writing. The event takes place in November during the time of National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. The students who participate are given 3 writing prompts to choose from and one week to complete a short story based on one of those prompts to be submitted for a prize. Tutors from the Judith Anderson Herbert Writing Center will be there to provide guidance and support for those writing during the write-in kick-off.
The event will take place on November 9th starting with a write-in in room 209 from 6pm and ending at 11pm. The participants will be given their writing prompts at the start of the event and have until November 16th to send them. There will be gift card prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners
