Error variation may be introduced into test scores by a number of sources such as the wording of the test items, the person doing the grading, the time and location of the test administration, etc. Generalizability theory provides a statistical framework for determining the amount of error variance associated with each of these potential sources of error. A working knowledge of the SAS software package is desirable.
