About this Event
1715 Volunteer Blvd
Exhibited as part of the graduation requirements for MFA students in the School of Art, the work in “stomach without a breath” explores the experience and realities facing the existence of the feminine queer body. Floral bodies manifest themselves in the gallery as a physical abstracted representation of these bodies, seemingly struggling and weighed down by some kind of force or overwhelming visceral feeling. The artist weaves together a fantastical narrative exploring these concepts, characters, and forces through highly ornate ceramic and mixed media sculptures.
