Students meet with Dr. Michael McCanless about career opportunities, readiness, and skill development in the fields of Geography and Sustainability. He is a human geographer whose research and teaching focus on urban political economy, housing, land, and property, taxation, digital geographies, and critical cartography/GIS. Dr. McCanless (of Texas Tech University) is visiting UT as the 2025 Geography Awareness Week Distinguished Lecturer.
